MACCABI USA ANNOUNCES THE OPEN WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL TEAM FOR THE 14TH PAN AMERICAN MACCABI GAMES
Philadelphia, PA, May 15, 2019 – Maccabi USA Open Women’s Volleyball Chair Narda Skov along with Head Coach Joe Reuben is pleased to announce the Open Women’s Volleyball Team for the 14th Pan American Maccabi Games which will take place July 5-15, 2019 in Mexico City, Mexico. Maccabi USA will bring a team of 400+ athletes who will join the other 2,500 Jewish athletes from 19 countries, participating in 24 different sports.
Head Coach Reuben is one of the Head Coaches at the NW Juniors Elite Volleyball Club in Redmond, WA. He was the Head Coach of the gold medal winning Juniors Girls Volleyball Team at the 2017 Maccabiah Games in Israel. The athletes are Ellie Arbetman of Oak Park, IL, Lakeland University; Erica Brok of Ormond Beach, FL, Florida Atlantic University; Gayle Edelstein of Livingston, NJ, McDaniel College; Ellie Leitko of Willis, TX; Tulane University; Gabrielle Meltzer of Chapel Hill, NC, East Chapel Hill High School; Lindsay Rescott of Beverly, MA, Westfield State University (’13); and Daniela Skov of Piedmont, CA, Piedmont High School.
The Games are hosted by the Confederacion Latinoamericana Maccabi (CLAM). They are conducted in cooperation with Maccabi World Union and are held every four years, two years after the Maccabiah is held. The Pan American Maccabi Games are a high-level athletic competition for Jewish athletes all over the world aimed at connecting Jews from the Diaspora.
