Maccabi USA’s Israel Connect program is a 6-day immersive journey focused on building connection to one’s own Jewish Identity, the American Jewish community, Israel, and global Diaspora Jewry. It has become the cornerstone of the US delegation’s 3-week Maccabiah experience. First day in Jerusalem was a very meaningful day connecting with Jewish culture and history.
We went to Har Herzl to learn about the country’s leaders and heroes who helped to protect the State of Israel.
Next up was Yad Vashem where we visited the Holocaust Memorial Museum. ...Walking through the museum gave everyone the chance to learn about the past and all the lives lost.
We ended the day at the Machane Yehuda Market which gave us the opportunity to experience the community and culture.
