Maccabi USA’s Israel Connect program is a 6-day immersive journey focused on building connection to one’s own Jewish Identity, the American Jewish community, Israel, and global Diaspora Jewry. It has become the cornerstone of the US delegation’s 3-week Maccabiah experience. For years, Maccabi USA U-19 outfielder Asher Belfer has dedicated countless weekends to volunteering at various food pantries across Southeast Florida. He recently engineered software to create Volunhelp, an app that automatically assigns volunteers to deliver food to clients.

Seventeen-year-old artistic gymnast Sophie Knapp will be embarking on a trip to Israel for her second Maccabiah. This summer, however, she’s returning from a shoulder injury sustained four years ago that left her unable to compete on the bars apparatus.
Returning to competition isn’t ...the only thing that Knapp is eagerly awaiting in Israel. She is especially looking forward to meeting people from different countries, just as she did during her first Maccabiah in 2022.
