2025 MACCABIAH
SECURITY STATEMENT

September 2024

Thank you for your interest in the 2025 Maccabiah. Since 1932 the Maccabiah has facilitated a worldwide gathering of Jewish athletes in Israel, to strengthen their connection to the State of Israel and the Jewish people. In the aftermath of the attacks of October 7th, the next Maccabiah in the summer of 2025 will be among the most meaningful ever held and an undeniable affirmation that ‘Am Yisrael Chai’ – Israel Lives!

The safety and security of every member of our delegation is always our primary concern, whether we are representing Maccabi USA in Israel at the Maccabiah or at a competition around the world, such as our recent delegations to the Pan Am Maccabi Games in Argentina in December and the European Maccabi Youth Games in London in July.

In the leadup to the 2025 Maccabiah we will remain in close communication with the Games Organizers as it relates to their security plans. Throughout the Games, we are guided by the Maccabiah central command (or “Moked”) which is in constant connection with Israel’s security apparatus on the national and local levels. Additionally, Maccabi USA will have its own security team assigned specifically to our delegation, which will work within the overall structure of the Games.

We know this is a dark time for Israel and the Jewish people, but like all other times, we will prevail. We have always had the utmost confidence in our partners in Israel to organize an incredible Games and have no reason for doubt at this time. Their mission remains the same and in some ways is even more relevant today: to make these games the best they can be, to celebrate the value of Jewish life and to reaffirm our commitment to Israel and the global Jewish family as one united community.
