MACCABI USA ANNOUNCES THE JUNIORS SWIMMING TEAM FOR THE 15th EUROPEAN MACCABI GAMES
Philadelphia, PA, May 17, 2019 – Maccabi USA Swimming Chair and Juniors Co-Head Coach Marshall Goldman along with Co-Head Coach Ben Zajic are pleased to announce the Juniors Swimming Team for the 15th European Maccabi Games which will take place July 28-August 7, 2019 in Budapest, Hungary. Maccabi USA will bring a team of 200+ athletes who will join the other 2,000 Jewish athletes from 29 countries, participating in 22 different sports.
Head Coach Goldman is the Director of the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. He formerly served as the Head Coach of Tennessee Aquatic and served as the Co-Head Coach of the Juniors Swimming Team at the 2017 Maccabiah Games in Israel. Head Coach Zajic is the Lead National Coach and Administrative Coach at the Kansas City Blazers Swim Team. The athletes are Steven Behar of Boynton Beach, FL; Victoria Carroll of Garden City, NY; Robin Cruz-Abrams of Boulder, CO; Anne Deedy of Mission Hills, KS; Lauren Levy of Amherst, NY; William Lewis of Bethesda, MD; Aaron Rosen of Scottsdale, AZ; Asher Stukelman of New York, NY; and Joshua Sultanik of Bala Cynwyd, PA.
The European Games are a high-level athletic competition for Jewish athletes all over the world aimed at connecting Jews from the Diaspora. They are hosted by the European Maccabi Confederation and conducted in cooperation with Maccabi World Union. They are held every four years, two years after the Maccabiah is held.
