MACCABI USA ANNOUNCES THE PARALYMPIC BASKETBALL TEAM FOR THE 20TH WORLD MACCABIAH GAMES
Philadelphia, PA, March 21, 2017 – The Maccabi USA Paralympic Chairman and Head Coach Stuart Greenberg, along with Co-Assistant Coaches Matthew Darlow and Michael Schiller, and Team Manager Dawn Schiller are pleased to announce the Paralympic Basketball for the 20th World Maccabiah Games, which will take place July 4-18, 2017 in Israel. Maccabi USA will bring a team of 1,100+ athletes who will be part of the 10,000 Jewish athletes from 80 countries, participating in 43 different sports.
The athletes are Peter Berry of Bellaire, TX; Matthew Darlow of Tinton Falls, NJ; Seth Goldberg of Arlington Heights, IL; Andrew Greenbaum of Three Bridges, NJ; Seth Rojhani of Denver, CO; and Michael Schiller of Mercer Island, WA.
The 20th World Maccabiah Games will be the first time that the United States fields a fully American Paralympic Basketball squad. It will also be the first time that any of the athletes have ever competed as a member of Maccabi USA. Head Coach Greenberg and Assistant Coaches Darlow and Schiller are excited to help foster lifelong friendships between the players, the other Team USA members, and help make their experience in Israel unforgettable.
Since 1932, over 62,000 athletes have participated in the Maccabiah Games, in a celebration of Jewish Strength and Solidarity. Team USA’s success is not only measured by the medals won, but by the impact that the Maccabiah experience had on their lives as well as the friendships they formed.
