Philadelphia, PA, February 26 – Ben Fox, 19TH Maccabiah USA Open and Juniors Gymnastics Chair, announced the Open and Juniors Gymnastics teams that will participate in the Games, July 2013. Tanya Berenson will coach the Rhythmic Gymnastics teams, Jason Bauer and Daniel Ribeiro will coach the Open Gymnastics and Stephanie Bevan and Daniel Young will coach the Juniors Gymnastics team.
Berenson, of Beverly Hills, CA, was a former American Junior Olympics Gymnast and is currently the Manager of the Los Angeles School of Gymnastics. In 1995, she started working as a coach at the School, considered one of the top 10 Olympic training facilities in the country.
Jason Bauer is the girls’ team coach at Head Over Heels Gymnastics Gym and Daniel Ribeiro is in his second year as the assistant coach of the Men’s Gymnastics team at the University of Illinois and was named 2012 National Assistant Coach of the year by the NCAA. Stephanie Bevan is a graduate of the College of William and Mary, participating from 2007 to 2010 in Women’s Gymnastics there, and Daniel Young is currently the coach for New England Academy of Gymnastics and has over 20 years of coaching experience.
The Open Gymnastics team members are: Lauren De Meno from Staten Island, NY; Sara Mermelstein from Northport, NY; Elana Molotsky from Mount Laurel, NJ; Jordan Nolff from Millburn, NJ – Stanford University; Jacob Paul from Cincinnati, OH; Alec Robin from Norman, OK – University of Oklahoma; Charly Santagado from Celebration, FL – committed to Rutgers University; Jesse Silverstein from Spring Valley, NY; Meghan Webb from Schenactady, NY; Anna Weiskopf from Clifton Park, NY; Michael Wilner from Buffalo Grove, IL – University of Illinois; and Adam Young from Corona del Mar, CA.
The Open Rhythmic Gymnastics Team has two athletes, Shani Caplan from Glenshaw, PA and Leora Feldman from Los Angeles, CA.
The Juniors Gymnastics team members are: Carli Block from Morganville, NJ; Jake Brodarzon from Paramus, NJ; Jacob Feldmann from Los Angeles, CA; Joshua Hurwitz from Solon, OH; Leah Jewett from Guilford, CT; Ethan Kahn from Norman, OK; Daniella Rabin from Pittsburgh, PA; Michael Rauchwerger from San Francisco, CA; Olivia Sinrich from Worcester, MA; and Nathan Winneg from Sudbury, MA.
The Juniors Rhythmic Gymnastics team has four athletes: Shanaya Fox from Westlake Village, CA; Michelle Kriner from Huntingdon Valley, PA; Gabrielle Lowenstein from Huntington Beach, CA; and Gabrielle Ostrometsky from Brooklyn, NY.
