Philadelphia, PA, September 7 – Jacob Sachs has been appointed to the Youth Men’s Soccer Team representing the USA at the 2nd Maccabi Australia International Games (MAIGs) in Sydney, December 26, 2010 – January 2, 2011.  The Games will take place at Olympic Park where many of the competitions took place during the 2000 International Summer Olympics.

Sachs, a resident of Carlsbad, CA, is currently a senior at La Costa Canyon High School where he plays varsity soccer.  Additionally he plays club soccer with the SD Surf and plays a variety of positions for both teams including top of the midfield, outside and forward.  Sachs and the SD Surf were State Cup Semi-Finalists last season.

Besides being a talented, passionate athlete, Sachs is an accomplished honor student who also has participated as member of the Speech and Debate Team at his high school.  To help defray the travel costs of the Maccabi USA Youth Men’s Soccer Team participating in the MAIGs, he has developed an on-line business selling barbeque spices atwww.knockoutrub.com.

When asked why he wanted to represent the USA at the MAIGs Sachs responded, “I love to travel to play soccer and I believe this will be a great experience.  I am hoping that the Games are competitive and our Team will compete at a high level.”
