CALIFORNIA ATHLETES APPOINTED FOR THE 2018 MACCABI YOUTH GAMES

Philadelphia, PA June 27, 2018 – The Maccabi USA Organizing Committee is pleased to announce 19 athletes from California who have been appointed as members of the USA delegation for the upcoming Maccabi Youth Games, which will take place in Israel, July 22-August 2, 2018.

The athletes are Sam Bock of Canyon Lake, CA, Youth Men’s Baseball; Roy Branitzky of San Jose, CA, Youth Men’s Basketball; Liam Carthy Los Angeles, CA, Youth Rugby 7’s; Yotam Elazar of Palo Alto, CA, Youth Men’s Basketball; Mayah Fenten of Sherman Oaks, CA, Youth Women’s Volleyball; Hannah Glick of Porter Ranch, CA, Youth Women’s Volleyball; Henry Glickman of Los Angeles, CA, Youth Men’s Basketball; Martin Kaplan of Santa Monica, CA, Youth Men’s Baseball; Asher Leveen of Los Angeles, CA, Youth Men’s Basketball; Bronte Mark of Tarzana, CA, Youth Women’s Volleyball; Elyse McKinney of Granada Hills, CA, Youth Women’s Volleyball; Nichols Meng of Moraga, CA, Youth Men’s Baseball; Roi Moskowitz of Sunnyvale, CA, Youth Men’s Soccer; Zachary Small of Dublin, CA, Youth Men’s Volleyball; Roy Tessone of Los Altos, CA, Youth Men’s Basketball; Max Weene of Los Angeles, CA, Youth Men’s Soccer; Zoe Weene of Los Angeles, CA, Youth Women’s Soccer; Aaron Withey of Los Angeles, CA, Youth Rugby 7’s; and Charlie Wittenberg of Los Angeles, CA, Youth Men’s Soccer.

There will be six days of competition, followed by three days of touring based in Jerusalem. The other countries competing include Argentina, Brazil, Canada, France, Great Britain, Holland, Hungary, Israel, Italy, South Africa, and Spain.

The Maccabi Youth Games will provide the athletes an opportunity to compete internationally and connect with Jewish athletes from around the world and the State of Israel.

The Magic of Maccabi combines a passion of Israel and athletics. The team members are excited to be part of the delegation heading to Israel in just under a month for the inaugural Maccabi Youth Games!
