JOE NEMZER NAMED HEAD COACH FOR MACCABI USA’s JUNIORS BOYS’ SOCCER TEAM
Philadelphia, PA, November 4, 2016 – Bryan Pollack, Overall Juniors Boys’ Soccer Chairman for the 20th World Maccabiah Games USA Organizing Committee, is pleased to announce the appointment of Joe Nemzer as Head Coach for Team USA’s Juniors Boys’ Soccer team at the 2017 World Maccabiah Games. Nemzer coached the undefeated Open Women’s Soccer Team at the 2015 European Games in Berlin, Germany and is currently the Head Coach of the Women’s Soccer team at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD.
“Coaching the undefeated Women’s Soccer Team in Berlin was such a powerful experience. I am excited to once again be part of the Maccabi USA organization, this time for the World Maccabiah Games, which to me is a whole different playing field,” Nemzer said. Team USA’s Juniors Boys’ Soccer team members will be part of the overall 1,200+ member USA Team at the 2017 World Maccabiah Games.
Maccabi USA is seeking qualified Jewish athletes to represent Team USA in Soccer at the 20th World Maccabiah Games in the following divisions: Juniors Boys (born 2001-2002) & Girls (born 1999-2002), Youth Mens (born 1999-2000), and Open Mens & Womens (ages 18-35).
The 20th World Maccabiah Games are the world’s third largest international sporting event and will consist of over 10,000 athletes from 80 countries participating in 42 sports.
Juniors Boys’ Soccer tryouts will be taking place in January 2017. Applications for the Games must be submitted prior to the tryout. Please visit maccabiusa.com to apply for the Games.
