MACCABI USA ANNOUNCES THE MASTERS MEN’S 45+ SOCCER TEAM FOR THE 20TH WORLD MACCABIAH GAMES
Philadelphia, PA, May 10, 2017 – The Maccabi USA Masters Men’s 45+ Co-Chairs Ian Grusd and John Levene, along with Head Coach Alan Bodenstein and Assistant Coach Gary Bernstein are pleased to announce the Masters Men’s 45+ Soccer Team for the 20th World Maccabiah Games, which will take place July 4-18, 2017 in Israel. Maccabi USA will bring a team of 1,100+ athletes who will be part of the 10,000 Jewish athletes from 80 countries, participating in 43 different sports.
The athletes are Joel Biran of Gladwyne, PA; Lawrence Block of Boyds, MD; Daniel Deresh of North Billerica, MA; Brett Epstein of Chandler, AZ; Marc Essenfeld of Scotch Plains, NJ; Stephan Feldgoise of Scarsdale, NY; Stefan Greenberg of New York, NY; Ian Grusd of Colts Neck, NJ; David Haas of New York, NY; Don Kent of New York, NY; John Levene of New York, NY; Drew Misher of Haverford, PA; Lee Popper of Needham, MA; Andrew Reichgut of South Orange, NJ; Matthew Sills of Oakland, CA; Howard Snyder of Bryn Mawr, PA; David Warren of New York, NY; Michael Weiss of Armonk, NY; Randy Winn of New York, NY; and Mark Wisnevitz of Arlington Heights, IL.
“I am extremely excited to be part of my 9th event with Maccabi USA. I am also excited to coach the most accomplished team in Masters 45+ history. We are looking forward to being very competitive on the field and spending time together as brothers in the Holy Land” said Head Coach Bodenstein.
Since 1932, over 62,000 athletes have participated in the Maccabiah Games, in a celebration of Jewish Strength and Solidarity. Team USA’s success is not only measured by the medals won, but by the impact that the Maccabiah experience had on their lives as well as the friendships they formed.
