MACCABI USA ANNOUNCES THE MASTERS SQUASH TEAM FOR THE 20TH WORLD MACCABIAH GAMES
Philadelphia, PA, May 22, 2017 – The Maccabi USA Masters Squash Chair Russell Stoch is pleased to announce the Masters Squash Team for the 20th World Maccabiah Games, which will take place July 4-18, 2017 in Israel. Maccabi USA will bring a team of 1,100+ athletes who will be part of the 10,000 Jewish athletes from 80 countries, participating in 43 different sports.
The athletes are Steve Berliner of New York, NY; Neal Golding of West Palm Beach, FL; Mitch Joseph of Des Plaines, IL; David Pudlin of Philadelphia, PA; David Rentz of Bryn Mawr, PA; Brian Roberts of Philadelphia, PA; Jonathan Sack of New York, NY; Neil Solomon of San Francisco, CA; and Russell Stoch of North Palm Beach, FL.
“Squash is one of the most highly contested Masters sports at the Maccabiah Games,” said Stoch. “The 2017 squash players are from all over the country and are excited to be representing Team USA. We hope to win both team and individual gold medals. 4 of the 9 players have participated in four or more Maccabiah Games and have won numerous medals. They will bring vast experience to the team and are excited to be joined by five first timers. We are looking forward to renewing old friendships and making new ones with fellow Jewish athletes from all over the world.”
Since 1932, over 62,000 athletes have participated in the Maccabiah Games, in a celebration of Jewish Strength and Solidarity. Team USA’s success is not only measured by the medals won, but by the impact that the Maccabiah experience had on their lives as well as the friendships they formed.
