MACCABI USA ANNOUNCES THE OPEN SQUASH TEAM FOR THE 20TH WORLD MACCABIAH GAMES

Philadelphia, PA, April 20, 2017 – The Maccabi USA Open Squash Chair, Tracey Specter along with Head Coach Leonard “Chipp” Adams is pleased to announce the Open Squash Team for the 20th World Maccabiah Games, July 4-18, 2017 in Israel. Maccabi USA will bring a team of 1,100+ who will be part of the 10,000 Jewish athletes from 80 countries, participating in 43 different sports.

“I am very excited for our Open athletes to have the life-changing experience of participating in the 20th World Maccabiah Games in Israel,” said Specter. “I have no doubt that these talented athletes will bring home medals, form deep-rooted friendships, deepen their affection of Israel and being Jewish, and feel proud to represent Team USA in the Games.”

The athletes are Brynn Bank of Princeton, NJ, The Hun School; David Berliner of New York, NY, University of Pennsylvania (’12); Daniel Eisenberg of Wayne, NJ, James Madison University (’12); Ilana Eisenstein of Washington, DC, Harvard University (’99); Nicole Feshbach of Santa Barbara, CA, Williams College (’16); Daniel Hutt of Scotch Plains, NJ, The Pingry School; Elizabeth Hyman of Allentown, PA, The Lawrenceville School; Zoë Kagan of Chapel Hill, NC, St. Lawrence University; Brian “Tucker” Roberts of San Francisco, CA, University of Pennsylvania (’13); Samuel Scherl of South Orange, NJ, The Pingry School; David Snyder of Baltimore, MD, Stevenson University; Nicole Windreich of Greenwich, CT, Greenwich Academy: and Rachel Windreich of Greenwich, CT, Greenwich Academy.

Since 1932, over 62,000 athletes have participated in the Maccabiah Games, in a celebration of Jewish Strength and Solidarity. Team USA’s success is not only measured by the medals won, but by the impact that the Maccabiah experience had on their lives as well as the friendships they formed.
