MACCABI USA ANNOUNCES THE YOUTH MEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM FOR THE 20TH WORLD MACCABIAH GAMES

Philadelphia, PA, February 27, 2017 – The Maccabi USA Youth Men’s Basketball Chairman, Brian Seitz along with Head Coach Howard Fisher and Assistant Coaches Jeff Klein and Brian Seitz are pleased to announce the Youth Men’s Basketball Team for the 20th World Maccabiah Games, which will take place July 4-18, 2017 in Israel. Maccabi USA will bring a team of 1,100+ athletes who will be part of the 10,000 Jewish athletes from 80 countries, participating in 43 different sports.

Coach Fisher is the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, CA and Assistant Coach Klein is the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. The athletes are Amitai Afenjar of Los Angeles, CA, Milken Community High School; Sam Beskind of Tucson, AZ, Catalina Foothills High School; Jackson Blaufeld of Pittsburgh, PA, Taylor Allderdice High School; Bryan Knapp of Washington, DC, Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School; Max Leibowitz of Encino, CA, Valley Torah High School; Griffin Levine of Parker TX, Yavneh Academy; Ben Lubarsky of Juno Beach, FL, The Benjamin School; Caleb Milobsky of Greenwood Village, CO, Cooper Yeshiva High School; Gabriel Ravetz of New York, NY, Blair Academy; Casey Ring of East Lansing, MI, East Lansing High School; Abraham Rosow of Brooklyn, NY, Yeshivah of Flatbush; Daniel Schlakman of Sharon, MA, Milton Academy.

Since 1932, over 62,000 athletes have participated in the Maccabiah Games, in a celebration of Jewish Strength and Solidarity. Team USA’s success is not only measured by the medals won, but by the impact that the Maccabiah experience had on their lives as well as the friendships they formed.
