May 17, Philadelphia, PA – Toni Wortman, of East Northport, NY, was elected to a four-year term as Vice-President of Maccabi World Union during their recent Congress in Ramat Gan, Israel. Maccabi World Union is the governing body of the International Maccabi Movement and the World Maccabiah Games.
Wortman’s involvement with Maccabi began 25 years ago when she served as the Co-Chair of the Culture and Education Program for the USA Organizing Committee at the 12th Maccabiah Games in Israel. Since that time, she has held progressively more responsible roles, recently completing two four-year terms as Chairman of the the North American Confederation of Maccabi World Union and as President of Maccabi USA/Sports for Israel – 2001 through 2009 – where she remains a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors.
Her energy, attitude, vision and capacity for love has propelled her career with Maccabi USA and Maccabi World Union. She is an open team-builder which has been a key to her success. Wortman will utilize the expertise and skills she learned as President of Maccabi USA in her new role as Vice-President of Maccabi World Union.
