MACCABI USA OPEN MEN’S & WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS ANNOUNCES ROSTER FOR 21ST MACCABIAH

Philadelphia, PA, February 14, 2021 – Ben Fox, Norman, OK, Overall Gymnastics Chair for the 21st Maccabiah, is pleased to announce the 5-athlete roster for the Open Men’s & Women’s Gymnastics Teams for the 21st Maccabiah taking place July 2022 in Israel.

The teams will be led by Overall Gymnastics Head Coach, Daniel Ribeiro, Champaign, IL, Open Men’s Coach, Jesse Kitzen-Abelson, Philadelphia, PA, and Open Women’s Coach, Evan Eigner, Philadelphia, PA. The 5 athletes representing the USA next summer in Israel at the 21st Maccabiah for Open Men’s Gymnastics are Alan Gerdov, Ann Arbor, MI, University of Michigan; Evan Hymanson, Morganville, NJ, SB Gymnastics; Marcus Kushner, Hillsborough, CA, SB Gymnastics; David Pochinka, Plano, TX, University of Illinois; Adam Wooten, Ann Arbor, MI, University of Michigan. The 5 athletes representing the USA next summer in Israel at the 21st Maccabiah for Open Women’s Gymnastics are Lauren Brendlinger, Ashburn, VA, Capital Gymnastics National Training Center; Cadence Goldberg, Dumont, NJ, US Gymnastics Developmental Center; Addy Rothstein, New York, NY, Gotham Gymnastics; Shani Sirota, Roslyn Heights, NY, Hotshots Gymnastics; Hanna Strause, Foster City, CA, San Mateo Gymnastics.

About the Maccabiah:
The first Maccabiah was held in in Ramat Gan in 1932 with 390 athletes from 18 countries taking part. Traditionally held every four years, interrupted only by the Second World War, by 2017 the Games had grown to include nearly 10,000 Jewish athletes from more than 75 countries competing in 40 sports, making it the third largest international multi-sport event in the world following only the Olympics and the FIFA World Cup. The Maccabi USA delegation to the 20th Maccabiah in the summer of 2017 numbered 1,131 members, the largest traveling delegation in the history of not just Jewish sporting events but all international multi-sport competitions.
