Maccabiah Opening Ceremony Information and Link
As some of you have experienced, there were kinks with the Opening Ceremony ticketing website. They should all be worked out now and we want to encourage anyone who has previously requested help and not yet heard from us to try the site again.
When you access the site, please make sure to click the small globe icon in the top-left part of the screen and choose English so the language will translate. Some families have also had better luck using a computer instead of a mobile phone.
Tickets are now on general public sale and accessible HERE.
The program and format for the Opening Ceremony changes every Maccabiah. So while we can’t speak to which seats are the best, generally speaking the seats should get better as the price increases.
TICKET PURCHASE ASSISTANCE
If, after you have tried again to purchase tickets and you are still not able to finalize your transaction, please email Michele Cypes from Maccabi World Union at: michele@maccabi.org. Please include your name, phone number, and the time zone in which you live so she can schedule a time to call and assist you.
HANDICAP-ACCESSIBLE SEATING
There are designated areas in the stadium that can accommodate wheelchairs and walkers. If you require these tickets or have questions about them, please email Michele Cypes (michele@maccabi.org) at Maccabi World Union, who will help you complete the transaction.
CHILDREN
- Children 3 years & under are free but MUST sit on their parent’s lap for the entire duration (3+ hours)
- Children 4 years & older are required to have a ticket to enter the Opening Ceremony
TIME AND LOCATION
- Thursday, July 14, at Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem
- Gates open at 5:30 pm and close promptly at 6:30 pm
- The program begins at 7 pm and will end around 10 pm
- If you are purchasing tickets on your own, give yourself plenty of time to get to the stadium. We strongly recommend public transportation to avoid road closures and traffic.
DO YOU NEED TO BUY A TICKET AND/OR FIND TRANSPORTATION TO THE EVENT?
You DO NOT need to buy a ticket or plan for transportation to Teddy Stadium if you are:
1) Officially part of the Maccabi USA delegation as an athlete, coach, manager, doctor, trainer, educator, or Maccabi Media participant;
2) Signed up for one of our Bronze, Silver, Gold, or MOMentum Missions;
3) Have otherwise made arrangements with Gil Travel/Kenes Tours for them to purchase tickets and/or transport you to Teddy Stadium as part of a customized travel package.
Everyone else, including families of athletes, must buy tickets and plan for your own transportation if you want to attend the event. Note: Families and spouses of Masters athletes who are registered through Maccabi World Union and staying in Maccabi World Union hotels do NOT need to worry about transportation to and from Teddy Stadium (transportation will be provided), but they still need to purchase their own Opening Ceremony tickets.
PARKING
All information regarding logistics, parking locations, etc. will be emailed by Maccabi World Union directly to ticket holders at the email address you provide when you purchase tickets. For security purposes, the emails will not be sent until roughly one week prior to the event and Maccabi USA will NOT receive any advance information. If you do not see the email in your inbox one week prior to the Ceremony (by July 7), please check your Spam/Junk inbox before contacting us. Based on past experience, we strongly recommend the use of public transportation to get to and from the Opening Ceremony.
TICKETING AND ADMISSION
Tickets will be issued as e-tickets. Upon a successful ticket purchase, the buyer will receive email confirmation of the purchase and a second email with the e-ticket(s) attached. At the stadium, ticket holders can show their ticket via mobile device OR print their ticket(s) at home and bring with them.
WHAT TO WEAR
Don’t forget to bring your Maccabi USA swag to cheer on the US delegation with pride! The Maccabi USA swag sale has already ended and apparel will not be available for purchase in Israel, though we currently have a special jewelry sale made possible by one of our Maccabi families in which you can customize high-quality Maccabi USA necklaces, dog tags, and other items, with 100% of the profit going to support our program.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding. Due to limited staff capacity, we will do our best to respond to inquiries, but we ask you to attempt to purchase tickets first before emailing.
