Sergeant Yonatan Din Hayim, born into a Christian family in New York, chose to convert and immigrate to Israel, where he enlisted in the military. He tragically lost his life in battle in the Gaza Strip. His Jewish funeral, attended by his Christian family, was a moving ceremony. His brother spoke ...fondly of Yonatan's commitment to Israel. Similarly, Shir Eilat, a 20-year-old lookout officer from Kfar Shmuel, bravely defended her country until her last moment. Described as a beacon of light, her infectious laughter brought joy to all who knew her.

Rose Lubin, a 20-year-old from Atlanta, came to Israel alone two years ago. She enlisted in the IDF, served as a combat soldier, and on October 7, she went out armed to the entrance gate of Kibbutz Sa'ad in the Gaza envelope where she lived, in order to prevent infiltration by terrorists. She ...survived the massacre in the Gaza envelope, defended her kibbutz during a Hamas attack, returned immediately to her combat role, and was killed a month later in a terrorist attack in east Jerusalem "She is a true hero," said her friends and commanders. #rememberRose
