MARCIE KLEBANOW APPOINTED AS HEAD COACH FOR MACCABI USA’S JUNIORS GIRLS’ SOCCER TEAM FOR THE 20TH WORLD MACCABIAH GAMES
Philadelphia, PA, April 1st, 2016 – Maccabi USA has appointed Marcie Klebanow, Director of Coaching for the Ohio Travel Soccer League, as the Head Coach for the Juniors Girls’ Soccer team for the 20th World Maccabiah Games in Israel, July 6-17, 2017. Klebanow also served in this capacity in 2013 at the 19th World Maccabiah Games, leading the team to a 7-0 record.
“I am extremely honored to have been asked by Maccabi USA to represent our country as the Head Coach for the Juniors Girls’ Soccer team for the 20th World Maccabiah Games, to have this experience to collaborate with thousands of other coaches and athletes who all share the ideals of Jewish nationality and unify together around athletics,” said Klebanow. “The most valuable part of this position is to be able to lead 20 young adults in an experience that will change their lives, giving them an opportunity to grow as soccer players and women, all while heightening their national and Jewish pride.”
As Director of Coaching for the Ohio Travel Soccer League, Klebanow is responsible for coach training and education, as well as assisting clubs with player development. She currently holds a USSF National B License, NSCAA Premier Diploma, NSCAA National Goalkeepers diploma, and US Youth National license. Klebanow has previous coaching stints at Division I institutions Wagner College, USC Upstate, and Ball State University.
Klebanow is looking to appoint qualified athletes to represent Team USA in Juniors Girls’ Soccer at the 20th World Maccabiah Games, for those born 1999-2002. Applications for the Games and tryout information are available online now at maccabiusa.com.
