Marshall Einhorn, Chief Executive Officer

Marshall joined the organization in July 2019. He is a proud Jewish athlete and long-time fan of Maccabi USA and the Maccabiah Games. He twice participated in the JCC Maccabi Games, returning with no medals but a lot of pins, lasting memories, and a feeling of connection to the global Jewish community. Marshall previously served as Executive Director of Brown RISD Hillel in Providence, RI, where he received the Hillel International Exemplar of Excellence Award and Brown RISD Hillel was awarded the Hillel International “Great Place to Work” award. Before beginning his career in Jewish communal leadership, Marshall worked for Reebok in its Marketing Operations division and for CGI as a systems consultant. He has a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University. At MIT, he served as the founding student co-chair of the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference. He is married to Dr. Deborah Skolnick Einhorn; they are the proud parents of three budding Jewish athletes and fans.

Shane Carr, Senior Director of Programs

Shane joined the organization in 2014. Following a successful nine-year career with the Union for Reform Judaism Summer Camps as the Associate Director at 6 Points Sports Academy in North Carolina. Shane graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing and minoring in Judaic Studies. Additionally, he spent a semester abroad  studying at the Lowy School for Overseas Students at Tel Aviv University. He served as a member of the USA Management Team for the 14th European Maccabi Games in Berlin, Germany; 13th Pan American Maccabi Games in Santiago, Chile; and the 20th Maccabiah Games in Israel. Shane resides in the suburbs of Philadelphia with his wife Jaime, their son Buddy, and dog Otis.

Julie Churylo, Senior Director of Operations

Julie joined the organization in 1994. Julie traveled to Israel for the first time with the 16th Maccabiah Team in 2001. She was a member of the ski team, softball team and orchestra at Lafayette College, where she earned a BS degree in Chemical Engineering. She lives in New Jersey with her husband.

Lindsay Gilbert, Associate Development Officer

Lindsay joined the organization in August of 2023. Born and raised in the Philadelphia suburbs, she graduated from Thomas Jefferson University East Falls with a B.S. in Marketing and her MBA with a concentration in leadership. During her time at Jefferson, she was the head women’s basketball manager as well as an intern for the athletic department. She is currently an assistant coach for Jefferson women’s basketball. Lindsay participated twice playing basketball in the JCC Maccabi Games winning both gold and silver medals. She spent twelve summers at URJ Camp Harlam, including two as the athletics supervisor. Lindsay’s goal at camp was to combine her love of Judaism and sports, starting a tradition of playing pickup counselor basketball every Friday before Shabbat.

Steven Graber, Program Director

Steven joined the organization in 2014. A native of Buffalo, NY, Steven graduated from Drexel University with a B.S. in Communication, as well as a M.S. in Sport Management. While at Drexel, he was the Head Manager for Men’s Basketball and also served as a Graduate Assistant in the Athletic Department’s Achieve Center.

Dan Kurtz, Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives

Dan joined the professional staff of Maccabi USA in 2016. He began his association with Maccabi USA in 2001 as an athlete and Judo Coach for the 16th Maccabiah Games. Dan has continued his participation in all the Maccabiah Games since then in various roles including athlete, coach, manager, and Assistant Team Manager. In addition, he served as the USA Team Manager for the 2015 European Maccabi Games in Berlin, Germany. Before joining Maccabi USA, Dan had a career in education, serving as an administrator in public and charter schools in Philadelphia. He received dual Bachelor degrees from the University of Delaware in Art History and Art Conservation, a Masters degree in Art Conservation from Buffalo State College, a Masters degree in Education from Arcadia University and a School Leadership & Principal certification from the University of Pennsylvania.

Sara Lemma, Registrar

Sara joined the organization in June 2021.  A native of the North Shore of Boston, Sara graduated with a B.A. in Sociology from West Chester University. Prior to joining Maccabi USA, worked as the Database Administrator at CAMERA and at the ACLU of Nevada. Additionally, Sara volunteered at the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, where she spent five years as the Volunteer Chair and Event Coordinator. She moved to South Jersey in 2018 where she lives with her husband, daughter, and their three rescue dogs.

Mackenzie Mager, Program Officer

Mackenzie joined the Maccabi USA professional team in the fall of 2016. Born and raised in the DMV, she graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 2016, with a B.A. in Advertising and a minor in Hebrew. During her time at Penn State, Mackenzie was a marketing intern for Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics working everything from golf to women’s volleyball. Though her favorite sport to work was home football games as she got to be down on the field interacting with guests and be surrounded by the best student section in college football.  Mackenzie also spent countless hours as a volunteer for THON (Penn State Dance Marathon), the largest student-run philanthropy organization in the world.  Besides Penn State sports, she is an avid fan of the USWNT and loves spending time in London with her brother, brother-in-law and their corgi, Alys.

Powell Schneider, Regional Engagement Officer

In 2024, Powell joined Maccabi USA as its Regional Engagement Officer. Born and raised in Boston, Powell’s journey with Maccabi USA started in 2013 when he represented the USA in Futsal at the 19th Maccabiah Games in Israel. Since then, his career has taken him around the globe, playing professional soccer and futsal across three continents. In 2020, he shifted his focus to sports management and has made impactful strides as a sporting advisor, college coach and youth club director. He lives in Hallandale Beach, Florida, where he continues to bring his passion for sports and community to the forefront of his work.

Danny Sirdofsky, Development Director

Danny joined the staff of Maccabi USA in May 2020.  His affinity for Jewish athletics began in high school when he participated in three JCC Maccabi Games, winning a gold medal in basketball in 2001. He began his career as an attorney, but segued into Jewish philanthropy in 2018. Originally from Northern Virginia, he attended the University of Michigan and is an avid Wolverines fan. He now resides in the Philly suburbs with his wife, Hannah, daughters, Olive and Sadie, and their English Bulldog, Princess Bo.

Neal Slotkin, Digital Media Director

Neal joined the organization in September 2021 and is a 6-time Emmy-Award winner with 27 years of experience in national and regional broadcasting. Neal worked extensively in media production and management while covering sports, news, and corporate video at ESPN, NBC Sports Philadelphia/Comcast SportsNet, MLB & NHL Network, BNC (The Black News Channel), and Perlow Productions. He also possesses more than a decade of teaching experience in TV production and broadcast writing as an Adjunct at Temple University and Rider University. The Rutgers alum was born in Philadelphia and currently lives in New Jersey with his wife Sharon and daughters Ally and Sydney.

Philip Tepper, Associate Communications Officer

Philip joined the organization in August of 2024. Originally from Westfield, NJ, he graduated from Syracuse University with a B.S. in Sport Management with a minor in Public Communications Studies.  While at Syracuse, Philip served as the VP of Programming for the Sport Management Club and was involved in the club’s Annual Charity Sports Auction as a Committee Chair. He previously spent 11 summers at URJ Camp Harlam, most recently working as a counselor.  He now lives in Philadelphia, where he continues to combine his passion for sports and communications to tell engaging stories.

BENNETT WERBEL, Associate Communications Officer

Bennett joined the Maccabi USA professional team in November 2024. A native of Bethesda, MD, Bennett graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.B.A in Finance. Bennett has experience interning for the Las Vegas Dessert Dogs and the Mubadala Citi DC Open. He previously spent 10 summers at Camp Ramah in New England, most recently working as a counselor. He now lives in Philadelphia, where he continues to explore the intersection of his passions of sports and business.
