STUART WEITZMAN SCHOLARSHIP FUND
In 2022-2023, Stuart Weitzman challenged Maccabi USA to endow a need-based scholarship fund to help young Jewish athletes get to Israel for the life-changing Maccabiah experience. The table tennis alum and shoe mogul offered $5M if we could raise $3M by year’s end. We are proud to say that together with our supporters, Maccabi USA ‘stepped up’ and will be able to send thousands of young Jews to Israel who otherwise wouldn’t get the opportunity.
The Stuart Weitzman Scholarship Fund will distribute more than $1.25M in need-based scholarships every Maccabiah cycle in perpetuity. The Maccabiah is the world’s largest gathering of Diaspora Jewry and a transformational program that uses sports to build Jewish identity, community, and connection to Israel. Including Maccabi USA’s signature Israel Connect educational program, this three-week experience makes a lasting impact on Jews of all backgrounds.
Stuart believes cost should never be a barrier for participation, and we know you feel the same. You can DONATE ONLINE HERE or use the link below – just make sure to write “Weitzman Fund” in the Gift Notes box.
