Legacy Society

“Just as my ancestors planted for me, I too am planting for my descendants.”

The Talmud prompts us to reflect on the Jewish legacy we will pass down to future generations. In 1948, inspired by the establishment of the State of Israel, our visionary founders sowed the seeds of a nonprofit that would harness the power of sports to unite American Jewry with each other and our homeland. Maccabi USA has since blossomed into a transformative organization, connecting thousands of Jews of all backgrounds with our heritage and Israel.

By leaving a gift in your will or making a current gift to our Endowment, you help ensure stability in an unpredictable future. Our founders left us the gift of Maccabi USA, and we encourage you to do the same for the generations to come.

Join in 4 Simple Steps

  1. Ask yourself: Do I want to leave a gift behind to Maccabi USA to help ensure it has a stable future?
  2. Contact Lindsay Gilbert (lgilbert@maccabiusa.com OR 215-561-6900 x 4156) or CLICK HERE to start the conversation.
  3. Fill out our short Letter of Intent (LOI) form (sample here), which Lindsay will email to you for digital signature.
  4. Formalize your commitment within 12 months and fill out our Confirmation of Gift (COG) form (sample here), which Lindsay will email to you for digital signature.

Join First, Decide How Later

  • Do NOT let the details of ‘how’ to make the gift deter you from committing to leave a gift.
  • While signing the LOI and COG represent a solemn commitment, they are NOT legally binding.
  • You do NOT need to know the gift amount when you join, or even when you formalize your commitment.
    • For example, you can leave a % of your estate to Maccabi USA after accounting for your heirs.
  • Gifts can be left via will, life insurance, retirement accounts (i.e. 401k, IRAs, etc.), donor advised funds, and in many other ways that provide substantial tax benefits.

Inscribe Yourself in the Maccabi USA Book of Life

Upon committing to the Legacy Society for a gift of any amount, we hope you will provide a personal statement for our Maccabi USA Book of Life. Your inscription will detail what inspired you to make this gift, which will live forever on our website and inspire others to follow in your footsteps. Thank you to all those who have already joined!
